Witness Statement: Huge ball of bright orange light travelling at speed from North to West. There was no sound. Same height as plane would be, but faster than plane. I thought it must be an aircraft on fire, perhaps being hijacked & I was waiting to hear a crash as it landed, but heard nothing. I thought then it must be a meteor or something.
Cant see it being chinese lanterns. Too high up, too fast & powerful, too big.

Hi i have just seen the same light in the sky it was 22.55 on the 25th july 2009, we were sat in the garden when we saw a bright orange light travelling quite fast across the sky it was going much faster than a plane and was very orange in colour, my husband tried to follow it and take a picture on his mobile he did get a few picture but they are very small, we saw it for around 1 minute then it disapered, i instantly thought it was a plane on fire but it wasn’t coming down, i clicked on googled and found this site.Would be interested in finding out if anyone else saw it We live in cheadle in stockport if you require any more info please contact me on the above email address

Only tonight did my boyfriend and I experience something similar, we were on our way back from trafford to Chatsworth when we noticed these strange orange lights that started off in pairs, with one at the back. They started up right hence looking,ike lights on a hill, anyway they moved, came forward and formed a triangle, they glowed orange and didn’t have any flashing lights like on a plane, they were like circular jet packs, and something dropped out of one…could have been a bit of fuel that fell in a liquid like waybut was definately on fire!! weird. what did we see? We went back to film them but they were gone.
