Beetham, South Cumbria-15th September 2009
Location of Sighting: Beetham, South Cumbria
Date of Sighting: 15th Sept 09
Time: 9.15pm
Witness Name: C M Greenwood
Witness Statement: I arrived home from work and parked on the road in front of my house, it was a star lit night and very dark because the street light is hidden by trees. Getting out of the car my eye was caught by something in the sky and looked up thinking I was seeing a shooting star because it was moving so fast. As I focused on it I could see it was light orange and shaped like two ovals with pointy ends which were joined together. It was travelling fast and in a straight line from east to west. In the dark its hard to gauge how high things are, but it appeared to be up as high as the planes (we live below several flight paths) but it was much bigger than the planes you look up and see. It was gone in perhaps 3 seconds. Has anyone any idea what it was? Could it have been a satalite falling back to earth, as a friend suggested? No one seems to believe what I saw!

Date of sighting:Saturday 19th September 2009
Time of sighting: 10pm approx.
Location: View from Premier Inn Car Park, Kendal, Cumbria
Number of witnesses including me: Four
I witnessed along with three other people five orange lights, turning from red to white arranged in a cluster. This was standing outside the Premier Inn car park in Kendal approx 10pm on Saturday 19th September 2009. The lights were also below cloud level and were silent too. In the space of about twenty seconds they were gone and disappeared upwards. At first the lights appeared like as if they were in a random flight formation, but they did not seem to follow any type of aeroplane flight path.
