Bloxwich and Great Wyrley, West Midlands-18th September 2009
Location of Sighting: Bloxwich and Great Wyrley
Date of Sighting: 18th September 2009
Time: 22.00
Witness Name: Dan n Kel
Witness Statement: We were driving through Bloxwich when my partner said "What is that light in the sky?" I turned and saw a motionless orange light. I replied that it was probably Mars but then more appeared! There were about 5 altogether, dancing across the sky before vanishing.
We drove around and saw them again near Great Wyrley. This time i pulled over and tooke out my phone to get a picture. The occupant of a nearby hous ecame out and also witnessed the craft. As I pointed my camera skywards the light went out on the craft, but a black shape was still just visible against the clouds.
This was most definately NOT Chinese Lanterns as they flew clearly in formation before breaking and reforming numerous times.
We reported this sighting to local police.

Sunday 8th November 2009 – Great Wyrley – approximately 18:55
I was taking the recycling out when I noticed a family walking up the street, (nothing unusual about that) and as i turned to close the door, i heard one of them say “whats that?” and point skyward. I looked up and saw a red object that glowed with the intensity of flame. I immediately thought it was mars or maybe a comet, but as the seconds past i noticed its height above the ground was not significant and from the fierce orange red glow eminating from it, it appeared to me, that i was witnessing an aircraft in terrible distress with a raging inferno pouring from its side.
This whole sequence lasted maybe ten seconds, before i quickly called my girlfriend to come and witness this bizarre site. She quickly arrived and we watched the distressed aircraft, but rather than drop out the sky or blow-up as we both anticipated, the craft moved rapidly in the direction of Walsall, and we watched until it disappeared into clouds.
Clearly, the object was not a distressed aircraft. It was not a firework either. I am sure it was not a chinese lantern as it approached Great Wyrley in the general direction of Wolverhampton and then rapidly moved towards Walsall maintaining the same approximate height before disappearing into cloud cover.
Anyone who was out last night would have noticed what a settled windless evening it was. A frosty night, with excellent visibility and no air turbulence. Monday morning has been incredibly foggy which is typical of a windless night.
I dont believe the object was blown by the wind, and by it rapid straight movement, can not really hazard a guess either.
We did not report this incident to anyone.
