Witness Statement: While out for a drive with a friend on the outskirts of Blackburn, towards the Preston direction. We stopped on a layby on a country road, we did not notice anything while we drove up to the layby, our thoughts were that we disturbed whatever it was. The object was oval in shape from our point of view, although it could have been disc shaped. It was in the field beside us, no more than 30 feet away on the other side of the hedge. It was about the size of a double decker bus. When we seen it a large light came on, on the front of it and it moved from side to side from one end of the object to the other, while making a humming noise. It then shot of without any sound towards Preston with the light going through the clouds as it went, it headed directly across the Irish sea. Thats all I want to say for now.
