Ellon, Aberdeenshire-28th November 2009
Location of Sighting: Ellon
Date of Sighting: 28th November 2009
Time: around 9pm
Witness Name: Paul
Witness Statement: Around 9pm saw static steady and bright red light low in the sky above southern edge of Ellon, Aberdeenshire. Light looked similar to nav hazard light on a mast or tower, or possibly like the rear light of a road vehicle - lots of glare about it but not as much as when a vehicle's brake lights are on. No beacon or strobe lights and no sound whatsoever. Suddenly it was moving E to W with no apparent buildup in speed, just suddenly moving at constant speed (as if 0-60 in zero seconds). As I watched it I noticed its speed at times would suddenly slow for half a second or so then go back to its general speed for a second or so, then another short stutter of slower speed, but mostly its speed was steady. Passage across the sky was absolutely straight, as if drawn with a ruler. Maybe half a minute later a second one suddenly popped into existence (or switched on) where the first had started from and it followed what appeared to be exactly the same straight E-W line as the first one, as if they were both on the same dead straight rail. Followed their passage left to right in front of me till they faded out and disappeared away to west of Ellon (they may have been disappearing into a rain squall although I couldn't see any rain). And then a third one appeared on exactly the same line and traveled left to right in front of me at the same sedate pace until it too faded out at exactly the same place. Have a single photo in which, if you go to the maximum zoom in windows image viewer, the single bright red glare, although very blurry, appears to be 5 closely spaced and unevenly lit (one of them almost out cf the others) red and pinkish lights on a slightly curved line. The curved line is at a narrow angle to direction of motion, not parallel with it. Don't think they were very far from me - maybe a few hundred yards, possibly 500' up and travelling at 20knots or less. And really quite small. 4/8th Cloud cover, cloud base at 2-3000', wind in NE to NNE, 10-15 knots gusting to 20knots or so. There were occasional light rain showers that evening but none during the sighting (apart possibly from whatever caused the lights to fade out to the west of Ellon).
Below is a crop of the original image and also a zoomed image (but you can obviously also just zoom it yourself).

Hi Paul:-)
Would really love to hear those ‘other aspects’ to this tale, any chance you’d share them privately?
I’m someone whose seen so many ufo’s in my lifetime, nothing that they do surprises me, I too see them suddenly swithc on, and either fade, or switch right off, as well as other seriously impossible for conventional craft, behaviour… and if you’ll share, I am discreet, with other people’s personal information.
If you don’t mind sharing, please do email me on… jeanie.jordan1@virgin.net
Smiles
JJ:-)

Ive already commented on similar experiances, its a helicopter, if you load the image and zoom to 60% reduce noise and change to negative you can see the shape of the helicopter, also for any others with the orange bright red light experiance here is a video to clarif further http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=USRJchUx1wg

I dont know any helicopter that can accelerate 0-60 in 0 seconds. Reports of these types of manoeuvre are generally associated with the more credible reports.
These types of instant acceleration / deceleration would cause trouble for human occupants because of excessive G-forces.

i just seen this about 10mins ago ,2320hrs on the 12th december . 3 different lights , one after the other .
looked like they were taking off left to right , then climbed and headed back to the left at altitude before disappearing . no noise? no chance of being 3 helicopters ?
they all went on the same path.

Ross,
Unless that was soon after the sighting of craft in that area, it’s maybe not so likely it would be three helicopters.
But, with the frequency of sightings of anomalous aerial vehicles – craft – it seems, on odds, more likely to be 3 Craft. I rest my case.
No noise? That clinches it.
Where did you see them?
