Lowestoft, Suffolk-25th December 2009
Location of Sighting: Lowestoft, Suffolk
Date of Sighting: 25 December 2009
Time: 8.30 pm approx
Witness Name: Norma Tripp
Witness Statement: I saw a bright orange light in the northern sky whilst travelling along Stradbroke Road, Pakefield, Lowestoft. I thought it was a star, but when I got out of the car and tried to look at it clearly, it was moving in an west to easterly direction. It appeared to be about the height of normal air travel and but there were no visable navigation lights, no sound and the whole object glowed orange. It travelled at a constant speed like an aircraft towards the North sea until it was out of Sight. My husband also witnessed this unusual event.
We are used to aircraft travelling overhead after dark on route to Europe but have never witnessed anything like this before. It had the appearance of a plane on fire.

My daughter called us out on chridtmas day evening at 20:10 to look at three glowing orange lights in sky above gargrave, North Yorshire. They cirled around the area a few times before travelling slowly towards the north west. They were silent and approx 1000 ft high following one another. After setting off to Skipton my daughter spotted them again in her rear view mirror. My husband managed to capture the objects on camera so we have a photo of them.

I too witnessed this on Christmas night! A very bright, very fast moving
orange light appeared from the south of Ipswich and departed to the
east. Being a keen aviation enthusiast I’m convinced it was not a plane.
It was too fast, no other lights & no noise! Also the direction was not that of
aviation traffic and no military aircraft would have been flying
on Christmas night! My brother and son also witnessed this! I am sceptical of UFO’s
but would welcome any explanation of this event!! I am unable to confirm the timing
but could confirm between 8pm & 10 pm!

Norma:-)
What strikes me about this sighting, is when you say it “looked like a plane on fire”, since this seems to be a recurring theme, an exact description afforded to many of these orange ufo’s.
Do try and find out if anyone else locally saw what you did, local papers, radio, or ask around the neighbourhood, I’d be interested to know if they describe the same.

Whilst driving from Cambridge to Beccles along the A143 (my wife says we were near Geldeston locks?), on Christams day at approx 19:30 I (we) witnessed 3 small, orange lights low (possibly few hundred metres) in the sky. They formed an arc simialr in shape to a half parabola, horizontal to ground. They were a fixed distance apart and moved slowy, sliently (no noise wasd iscernible above level of car engine) and at fixed height across from North to South. The sky was clear yet I could not associate the objects with anything man-mande or meterological in origin.
