Bath, Somerset-12th February 2010
Location of Sighting: BATH, SOMERSET
Date of Sighting: FRIDAY, 12 FEBRUARY 2010
Time: 19.10 - 19.20
Witness Name: Gay Tulyholowycz
Witness Statement: Three bright orange lights, in a straight line equidistant appearing approx 40 degrees above the horizon in the north and travelling south.
Initially I wondered it could be something military as they travelled in a straight line, but the lights did not flash and travelled at a consistent speed. There was no noise at all, but the lights were low enough that had they been helicopters, for example, I would have heard some sound.
The cloud was pretty low and broken and as I walked further, the first two lights disappeared - I wondered into the cloud. As I watched the third light, it then split into two lights and each light went slightly left right until I could see them no longer. I continued my walk (waiting for friends to stop and pick me up), on a busy city road, when another bright orange light came into view from the same direction, altitude, speed as before. The sky was clearer and I could see it disappear after no more than a couple of minutes.
I often watch the ISS and Shuttle when it/the fly over Bath, but I've never seen anything quite like this before and would love to know what this could possibly have been.

I believe I saw the same thing. At around 7:10 on February 12th I was driving out of Victoria Park in Bath when I saw two bright orange lights. Initially thought they were helicopters, but they were so low I’d have heard a noise. They intrigued me enough to stop the car and watch. They seemed to be together hovering, almost dancing around each other; they then moved towards each other and then away again, eventually seeming to glide slowly to the ground.
I found myself driving around Bath looking around to see if I could spot anything, what I don’t know!
It was unusual enough for me to stop the car and continue watching.
