Erskine – Renfrewshire-7th February 2010
Location of Sighting: Erskine – Renfrewshire
Date of Sighting: 07.02.10
Time: 10.30pm approx
Witness Name: Iain
Witness Statement: Having a ciggie in tmy south facing back garden, when I looked up to my left, and there was a large bright orange ball moving form left to right. It was below the cloud level and shimmered in the sky, it was there for a several mins, at one stage it hovered still before moving towards the south. As I was shouting to my partner to come and see it my neighbour was coming in from walking his dog, shouting on his wife to witness it, he had saw it for a while below the clouds and wanted to get home to ensure someone else could see it, all 4 of us witnessed it in the sky. It glowed brighter orange before heading upwards into the clouds and out of sight, It was not a plane or copter. !!!!

Yes can confirm sightings of the orange balls in the sky. Both Sighting occured in Dumbarton. Myself and a friend witnessed two separate sightings one on New Years eve 2009/10 at 11:10 where there were two bright orange balls in the sky moving accross the sky. One appeared to follow the other and then both seemed to dim like a dimmer switch and simply vanished from sight. The other sighting occured on Saturday 6th of February. Bizzarly I had just been talking to my friend earlier on that evening about our New Year sighting and then suddenly the same type of orange ball appeared to us again. This sighting was closer and the object moved as if directed by intelligence then dissapeared behind a cloud.
Both the sightings were of the same sort of objects whatever they were. They were silent as they moved, and did not pulsate like conventional aircraft but were like bright orange street lamps in the sky. Weather balloons, Chinese lanterns I really dont know? The intensity of the light being emitted from these objects was intense, so perhaps they were something other? I have photos of both sightings taken on a camera phone.

I also saw something that sounds very similar to this it was approx 8:00 pm might have been a bit later – was walking the dog (in Broxburn) and saw an orange light looked like it was shimmering but that could have been the thick cloud cover, it was pretty big, and had no noise or intermittent flashing, it was also heading into the direction of aircraft coming into land at Edinburgh so would be highly unlikely to be an aircraft.. glad I’m not the only one who saw it..
