Witness Statement: My sister and I were travelling home from Dumfries at 8.30pm just north of Thornhill, when we saw very clearly in the sky in front of us about 400 feet away and seem to be just higher than tree height. 3 large oranges lights in the perfect shape of a triangle. It appeared to hover then move behind trees to our right. We stopped the car and got out and the lights had vanished. We were on a dark country road with no street lights. Anyone else seen anything like this?

i quite often see star like objects in the sky , very bright and clearly within our atmosphere and in broad daylight and moving straight up . when they are in the skyline depth perseption is difficult ! so they could be 10 feet away and tiny or 10 miles away and large . but i usualy 2 or 3 a year ! although i have not seen any this year yet . i dont know if this is any help ?
