Witness Statement: While playing with my dog in the back garden i pointed my torch at the roof next door and when i looked up i saw what was an orange ball in the sky.
Now i know your saying chinese lanterns but this was no chinese lantern.
The object was moving relatively fast i'd say it travelled towards Center of manchester (about 8 miles in 2mins) but had an orange aura around it as well as a tail. My first thought was definately chinese lantern but it was impossible at the rate it was travelling. The tail was obvious as it was quite far behind the object as well as an orange glow at the front end of where it was travelling.
Just out of curiosity wondered what it was as i checked online and couldn't find anything online about it.

i have also seen this object in the sky over the stretford area not so far away, it was very low and had a fin at the back, was to big to be a chinese lantern, i only had my blackberry handset with me so i didnt even bother taking a pic, the object was scanning the area then went towards city center the direction was not in a line, it went towards the right then went back to the left, maybe the pilot of the craft dropped of at bargain booze lol

7 of the exact same description was seen above Timperley Village by myself and partner, very weird indeed. We got in our car at tesco baguley car park and spotted them glowing in sky, followed them over to the village by which time there was 1 left which headed off towards Manchester. I could not tell what they were , other people stopped to look .. Anyone else seen them or know what it is??
