Pudsey, Leeds, West Yorkshire-4th March 2010
Location of Sighting: Pudsey, Leeds, West Yorkshire
Date of Sighting: Thursday 4th March, 2010
Time: 18.35
Witness Name: Claire & Abbie
Witness Statement: My daughter and I were driving home in the Littlemoor area of Pudsey when she spotted what I can only describe as a bright orange burning ball! I opened the car window but it was silent. It seemed very close and was directly overhead. I pulled over to watch it and was waiting for it to come down as it looked like a hot air balloon on fire, however it continued to drift gently across the sky. By the time I got my camera out it had risen and was fading. On reviewing the picture I had taken there was nothing there!!!
Please.......did anyone else see this?!
I now have a worried 10 year old who is phoning around to see if anyone else saw it

Yes we saw it too, but a bit later, over our district (south elmsall, nr pontefract), 8pm ish, it was low and it was bright orange what appeared to be circular, bigger at the front and narrower at the back. I was waiting outside for my other half to get the car out of the garage and happened to look up at the sky as it was such a clear night and it was coming straight towards us, Ive never seen anything this bright orange colour, he saw it too as he reversed the car out and stopped in the road to look. It was travelling slowly, I watched it coming towards us for a few mins. As we watched it suddenly it appeared to have gone behind a cloud (except there were no clouds !!) it “faded” into nothing as though it had some sort of cloaking device to coin a star trek phrase!! Must admit it unsettled me all night and prompted me to see if anyone else had reported it !

Just read about your sighting and was concerned that your child was now worried about what you wittnesed .
I am no authority on these things but would like to tell you that i have seen these “orange balls of light ” on numerous occasions . Once at very close proximity . Yes , they are real !
I have wittnsed beings of light appear from within these lights . The light that you see is centred above the head of the being who sits , cross legged in what i would describe as a lotus position .
These beings are , i truly believe , benevolent , and mean us no harm at all . In fact i would suggest that they have been around for a very long time indeed .
Sightings are on the increase of late although many people discount them as lanterns .
All the best and i hope i have helped to put your mind , and your childs , a little at rest .

Seen the same object over Runcorn Cheshire around 8pm. It came over in a North to south direction andwas silent. A few seconds after it passed it just suddenly faded and disappeared. Would lovetoknow what it was.

Yes!!! I saw it at about 8.30/9pm and it was a third of the moon in size and was pulsating. It was fire orange. After about a minute it seemed to shrink to the size of a normal star and not so orange as if clouds were smothering it but no clouds in sight!!!
Is it mars? Is it the misterious Niburu planet set to come too close by 2012 and disrupt our weather systems? We better live today and not so much for tommorrow as who knows what is coming eh???

I saw the same thing driving home leaving leeds on the 4th march between 7-7:30pm 4th march, same descriptions above and over to the right of the motorway however i did not see 1, i saw 3 of them close to each other in a fixed position, looked like they were just static and hovering above the motorway.
Very weird!!!

At around 19.10 this evening in clayton heights Bradford, my sister and I spotted what looked like a giant orange ball outside the living room window. The ball looked as though it was on fire but also flashing lights. At first we thought it was a hot air balloon but now we are not so sure. we ran upstairs and looked again but by this time it was 2 small orange lights that were fading into the background. We watched for a few seconds as they disappeared into the sky. Did anyone else see anything???????

I’ve just been out for dinner with my inlaws and they were telling us that last night (7th March) they saw what looked like a ball of fire or something moving accross the sky. They weren’t sure whether it was a very large meteorite (which is very unlikely because it lasted for a few minutes) or a plane on fire or something.
Anyway, after a few minutes it seemed to fade out a bit like people have mentioned above. Thought I’d check to see if anyone else saw anything strange, turns out they did!
Wierd!

Oh, I forgot to say, they live in Hucknall, Notts.

These burning orange balls are spectacular, but they ARE NOT UFO’S!
My son bought a pack of chinese balloons which you light, the ball inflates with bright orange flame and off the float in the sky for miles, I had never seen one of these before and he bought them for a funeral for a child to let off to send to grandad, on new years eve I saw hundreds though as they have become common and a lot cheaper, they are really big and great to watch, cheap on e-bay and internet.
March 9th, 2010 at 10:42 am
Forgot to mention look them up on internet, e-bay, SURE THERE WILL ALSO BE SOME ON YOUTUBE, they are called CHINESE LANTERNS.
March 10th, 2010 at 1:13 am

Had to search for some thing relative to what me and my girlfriend just saw out of our balcony in Leeds center. Three bright orange orb things with zero sound coming from them. Tried to record it on my iPhone 3gs and looks crap quality
. Way too close to each other the two of the three orbs were to be helicopters or planes.
What got me was the bright orangness and nooooo sound.

I saw the same at about 8.45 in Portsmouth, hampshire.

I too seen a strange light last night over Leeds, I was out walking the dogs with my two children when to my left high in the sky there was a bright orange/red light similar too a ball of fire this moved from one side of Leeds to the other in seconds and suddenly died out in an instant. My first thought was that it was a Chinese lantern but has look would have it I had one in the house so me and the boys proceeded to launch one in the sky to compare light/size/height and speed and the lantern didn’t look like it or go half as high and the colour didn’t match up either. The speed of this light was like nothing I’ve seen before plane/helicopter or shooting star and it died out as if someone flicked a light switch off where as a flame would die slowly this didnt. This led me and my boys to believe we’d seen our first UFO and we was all over the moon.

I live in Garforth leeds and have just seen and orange ball floating and rise up fast into the sky… i have seen about 3 within the last couple of weeks.
May 4th, 2010 at 8:50 pm
Seen them quite a few times and have to agree that they are more than likely Chinese lanterns, However, me and a few friends saw something similar to lanterns but three orange lights shot from the east across the horizon, stopped and then moved north one by one and disappeared. It left us all gobsmacked. They were not lanterns and I have no explanation for what we saw. Aliens, maybe but probably some black project military craft.

LEEDS, yes we saw the light too looked to be over castleford way to us we were coming back from Manchester, we have seen the same light orange but static over hambleton Selby north Yorkshire. That’s where we live and a chap sold a meteorite for 94k this year having found it in hambleton woods! Strange. The orange light above hambleton was static for around 20 minutes I shouted my boyfriend and he couldn’t believe it, it was way too high to be a street lamp and way too low for aircraft, as we were pondering what it was it shot off fast toward Selby, weirdest thing I’ve ever seen.
Does make you wonder what goes on, my friend once said she was abducted by aliens, I just thought she was deranged, she oddly enough was from hucknall notts which is where another sighting was,
maybe time to apologise :0)

I work nights and have just been on the phone to my girlfriend who has just described the same as above to me…..but she has just seen a total of sixteen of these coming from different directions, some stationary, some moving quickly, some slowly….some going vertically and one like a shooting star. This happened between 11: and 11:45 tonight……she was quite shaken by it. This was in the Elland area…..we live at Clifton nr Brighouse and have a fantastic view over the valley looking toward Lancashire. Back in 1981 I saw a single bright orange light hovering over the Scammonden bridge/reservoir for almost an hour before it took off at great speed following the east bound M62……..Chinese lanterns? I honestly don’t think so…..

On 8/8/2010, at 23:10, I was out for a short run and was on Lovell Park Rd, just north of the Opal3 student flats. I saw a bright orange thing (quite small, maybe the size of a helicopter, but it was somewhat twinkling, like a star would) flying from south west to northeast.
At first, I just thought it was a plane or helicopter, but I noticed no noise, and it seemed to be below the clouds (there were only few clouds). It went in a very straight line, the speed must have been that of a plane, and it just disappeared completely in the north east, but not because it was too far of, it just disappeared. I called the WY police and got reference 2196, for 8/8/2010.
To me, it looked completely different from the many planes that go to the local airport (which is always a path from south east to north west, and you can clearly see the plane lights because they are low).
I am curious to find out what this was.
August 9th, 2010 at 9:42 am
I should have added that Lovell Park Road is in Leeds, West Yorkshire.

Me too, but don’t you think its thrilling, I’m watching for the aliens. I saw shooting stars on Tuesday evening. South Yorkshire
