Bexhill-on-Sea, Sussex-18th November 2012
Location of Sighting: Bexhill-on-Sea, Sussex
Date of Sighting: Sunday 18th November 2012
Time: approximately 3pm
Witness Name: Dr Paul Kitchenham
Witness Statement: It was a clear cold & sunny afternoon with hardly any wind: I went out in my garden to check the weather conditions before setting out for a walk and observed a metallic tubular shape moving quite rapidly from south to north, followed by a metallic ball moving at the same speed, as if it was being pulled by the tube. It was difficult to tell how high up they were – they could have been relatively low & small or higher & larger. I didn’t particularly take in what I’d seen & it only dawned on me as I went on my walk that I could not explain what I had seen: this realisation came about as a result of observing “angel hair” on bushes, trees & falling from the sky throughout the course of my walk (so throughout the Sidley, Glenleigh Park, Down & Woodsgate areas of Bexhill). I had read of its appearance in connection with UFO sightings & put 2 & 2 together. I should add that I handled some of the angel hair – it was definitely not spiders web or anything organic, as it crackled with a kind of static noise when I pulled a strand apart. It dissolved very rapidly on my hands but seemed to be persisting for longer on hedges etc, presumably because the temperature was lower than in my hands.

fascinating sighting dr kitchenham, you obviously know a bit about the subject of ufo’s to connect the sighting with the `angel hair`phenonmena .a daylight sighting is worth a host at night imo ,especially now with the vast array of radio controlled aerial toys with all manner of lights attached( not to mention the numerous lantern sightings still regularly reported on here ) would you like to come on to the forum to discuss you sighting with other level headed folks interested in finding the truth ( whilst wading through the mire of send upps, please excuse the pun ) and trying to make some sense of what is a truly remarkable subject with so many connotations ..

There are some strange things flying around in our skies Paul! I saw something once that looked like a flying oil drum, only it was a kind of biscuit colour, so I always thought of it as ‘the biscuit barrel’! That was a daytime sighting! I’ve heard about the angel hair, but never known anyone who’s seen it before! When it disolved on your hands, did it leave any kind of residue? Quite fascinating! Thanks for posting!

Hi Caz, just wondered if you could tell me a bit more about your “flying oil drum” sighting…it sounds like something I witnessed about 3 years ago and this was a daytime sighting. When was it please? and what time of day? Can you also tell me the location you witnessed it in?

This is so obviously a fictitious report I had to spend 5 seconds looking up Dr Paul from Bexhill in Sea
… I note he’s a school teacher and soon to be ordained priest. Hmmm… I wish when I was at school we had such things as the internet to post such reports in our teachers’ names for a laugh

Warren: your attempts at debunking are purely your own opinion, ie. guesswork. You have no proof whatsoever that this is “so obviously a fictitious report”. How do you know it’s not genuine? You don’t! You just attempt to ridicule witnesses that bravely come forward to tell of their experiences. The fact is, some VERY VERY weird things do happen in this world that YOU cannot explain.

Hi Hels, Sorry I can’t be specific about dates as I didn’t make a note of it, but I can tell you that I was travelling from Bedfordshire to Cambridgeshire, which was a journey I made regularly over a 4 year period [2008-2012]! I can tell you that we were about half way there and as we always left around the same time, so can put the time of the sighting at around midday! The day was bright and clear with sunshine and blue sky with white clouds. My husband was driving with me in the passenger seat, when I noticed this object which reminded me of an oil drum, but was kind of biscuit/beige in colour. As though that wasn’t peculiar enough, I can tell you thet it was ‘not’ travelling end first, but wide part first. The sighting was no more than 15 to 20 seconds long before it went into cloud and if I had to guess at size, I’d say carsize. Hope that helps! :]

Sorry Hels…..the dates should have been 2007 to 2011 and not as stated above!

I’m with Warren on this one. T., for someone who blathers on incessantly about the occult, interdimensional beings and other fanciful claptrap,I would say you are not really qualified to accuse anyone of anything. Your explanations for the “weird thngs that happen in this world” hold very little water as your sources are

questionable to say the least.
