Boston, Lincolnshire-2nd January 2013
Location of Sighting: Boston, lincolnshire
Date of Sighting: 02/01/13
Time: approx 3am
Witness Name: Marie Bishop (mazblondie)
Witness Statement: I have already reported some sighting on the site i saw in the summer of last year, but this was something a whole lot different.
I had gone to be approx half eleven, when ans was laid in bed reading, i have been suffering from insomnia, so was wide awake and desperately trying not to be! I noticed a off white(almost butter coloured) light in the sky, it was north westerly above the houses by a long way, it came on, very bright, and slowly moved left to right for approx 2 mins, it was big, bigger than any of the other sightings i have reported, it was i would say half the size of the moon(in comparison to the moons distance i would say this object was closer) it, the light disappeared suddenly, i sat up and opened the window, and about a minute later the light returned, same trajectory but across the sky some what, to me it looked like they were searching, but there was no search light… after another minute, it disappeared, no sound nothing.
This object was a ball, it almost looked like a pearl, but lit from inside, it wasnt spinning, it wasnt flickering, it was literally a opaque ball. I am not sure if anyone else has seen anything like this.
BTW, it wasnt a lantern, i have seen plenty of them lit and set off and this was nothing like it, apart from the fact it was double the size.
For me, now there is no doubt, there is something in the skies, something not all of us are yet aware of.

Wow, half the size of the moon – thats a big one! You should shut your curtains at night, as any light in a bedroom can interupt sleep. So can reading lots of books!

Bernie, just type in mazblondie on the web. How many sites does this name bring up? Why attach it to your name on a UFO site?
You could also visit Toynton All Saints just up the road from Boston, they have huge craft there as well and lights that are trying to communicate with one of the contributors to this site.
Sorry, this sighting does not stand up for me. Especially as RAF Coningsby is NW of Boston.

i am aware that there are all the different airports in this are (there are 3 raf airports, one small airport for small airplanes, one in skegness, and the air ambulence, oh and the police heliciopter) i have lived here for 14 years and looked out of the same window for all of them, i suffer from insomnia due to ill health and medication that causes me to not sleep, as for being the size of half the moon, i did say in my initial report that it was half the size of the moon, but closer to me than the actual moon, i am sure you get man people who come on here and try and tell a pack of lies, but i know what i saw, and i have no reason to lie, the whole of last summer, myself and my husband witnessed, most nights small orbs in the sky above boston, after the summer they stopped, so we assumed that maybe they were some thing to do with the olympic security measures as they seems to stop coincidently with the olympic events finishing, although, the ones that shot vertically up into the sky were still strange, i am no expert on weather phenomenons in and around the fens area, but i guess the sceptics out there could say that would say it was some natural gas maybe, or ball lightning? the skys were generally clear.
As for this recent sighting, feel free to have your opinion, but please refrain from virtually calling me a liar, i have no reason other than to see if any one else has had a experience, what have i to gain?, i know what i saw, i can see it as clear in my mind now as i did that night, and although books may give us the imagination to smell roses in winter, it also gives us the intelligence to know what we saw without others doubting it.
by the way… just because mazblondie comes up on the web… i suggest you need to find yourself a hobby, lots of names come up on the web.. doesnt make them liars does it? and you and people like you wonder why others dont report there sightings,i wonder why when they get shot down in flames by the likes of you.

If you look at my contributions on this site you will see how balanced they are. I’m aware of gas forming lights in marshy areas, ball lightning and the electrical charge granite gives off as it breaks down.
Additionally, there are many reasons why people see things, Oliver Sachs has a bookout called Hallucinations, it makes interesting reading.
Have I seen anything unusual in the sky, yes I have – on the nose you could say, again reported on this site.
Sorry, Marie, you see too many UFO’s and incidentally I have other hobbies as well as reading books.

please tell me mote about the toynton all saints sightings nicholia

Marie, I made the point on closing your curtains if you suffer from insomnia, this does help some people get to sleep, even on the darkest nights your eyes can detect light through your eyelids and this stops the production of melatonin. Switching off all electrical devices such as clocks and storage heaters can also help you sleep.

Very interesting sighting Marie! Thanks for sharing it with us and please don’t be put off posting on here if you see anything else!

Sorry I am being a bit curious and also googled mazblondie.
I have to say it’s the first time I see someone is being debunked just for having a lot of results in a google search. If everyone used the same single nickname everywhere we would all have the same amount of results – just a thought.
I believe in the genuine intention behind this observation – regardless of what it was exactly.
Thanks.

Marie,
Don’t take any notice of the negative people who populate this sight.
Nicholia,
Who are you to say that Marie sees to many UFO’s! that’s a ridiculous statement. Why can’t you take the sighting as face value and comment on that instead of draging up Lorraine Heron’s sightings.
Once again, you suggest that someone should read Oliver Sach’s book “Hallucinations” so, are you suggesting that Marie is suffering from that syndrome?

Thanks Chris and Marion, please see my other contributions on this site. Chris I believe I have informed you of this before.
Its an interesting book, perhaps you should read it, especially the chapter on sleep – something I have had to deal with in my family and my points above reflect this. Its well researched and quite facinating.
Had the sighting just been made by Marie Bishop I could handle that. What made me suspicious was mazblondie next to it. Why suffix this? Being my normal curious self, as most people are, I typed this in and went into a world of mazblondie. I don’t know what this has to do with UFO’s – so why put the suffix in?
The sighting. This was in the direction of a front line RAF fighter base – not airport. The watch is 24 hours a day 365 days a year – they help us sleep safely in our beds. Despite the time being in the dog watch hours, don’t you think this object would have been seen by others. Local rag reports.
This is also an AIAA day and night and is well covered by radar, especially LARS. We have two main threats currently. One is religious fanatics and the other our Russia friends making their way into the North Sea and not only with the old Tuplev Bear aircraft.
In this day and age with all the security problems we have, If you saw something unusual, and it was big and bright. Don’t you think you would wake your partner, wife husband or ring the police? I would.
Marie has many sighings on this site – please feel free to type the name in. Most people only see one UFO in a lifetime, especially those that fall into the interesting 5 per cent of sighting.
Perhaps contact with RAF Coningsby will clear up the matter after all the object was “Half the size of the moon(in comparison to the moons distance i would say this object was closer)”. Wow! Now thats one hell of a big object.
There have been many interesting sightings made on this site over the years, I balance my comments accordingly. This comment you will be pleased to know, will be my last on this site.

Marie, at the risk of being accused of heretic status, can I ask a question please? When you say it was a long way above the houses, were you implying that it was inside or outside the atmosphere? I’m guessing outside since you make reference to the Moon? Could it have been one of these, particularly as they tend to be intermittent?

Nicholai,
Hope you don’t stop, but it’s your decision.
I value your balanced input.
Cheers

Nicholia…..I know I don’t always agree with everything you say, but on the whole,I think your comments are well balanced and your knowledge of aviation is to me, astounding! I for one will miss you if you go and hope that you will reconsider!
