Witness Name: Adair Clarke
Witness Statement: While shooting with a new HD camera up at trees, I noticed on my edit computer an anomaly in the background. I slowed it down and zoomed in and it be came even more curious looking. Would appreciate some analysis of the video. I have it up on youtube, but can send it on to you as well. (Not a hoax, just would like some expert(s) to take a look and see if it can be explained.

My first thought is a daylight meteor. If so, there are likely to have been other sightings (though not many) over quite a wide area.

I have still framed this right through the clip and I reckon it is a high tailed jet airliner of some description, possibly a McDonnell Douglas MD80 or one of its derivatives. I am going to attempt to enhance it and post the result on the forum

Hi Adair, It looks to me as though you caught a commercial
jet flying over. Your camera has focused on the foreground
trees rather than at infinity which has blurred the object somewhat but an aircraft fuselage and wings can still be made
out. The object apparently flying towards the ground is just
a function of the perspective created by the camera being pointed up and the aircraft flying over. The bright spot is
the Sun shining of the fuselage. There is no con-trail but
as you probably know this is dependant on weather conditions
and Aircraft altitude.

I agree with Sgtgrash and Andrew, it looks like an aircraft and you can just make out the wings and tail. It is moving faster than I would have expected.

If it is an aircraft, it’s trajectory is all wrong, it’s has the appearance of falling to earth, also the sun shining of a fuselage cannot remain in one static position as it moves across the sky.
I fail to see any wings, fuselage, just an indistinct diamond shape.
If you take a picture of an aircraft flying paralell to the earth, then that’s what the resulting image would show, to suggest the camera would alter the aircrafts trajectory is
ridiculous!
