Witness Statement: I was out having a smoke in the garden and noticed that there was what looked like an extra star beside the plough.

It looked a lot like the other stars – a white/blue colour, except it was a lot brighter. I can’t remember exactly what time or date it was (I’ve been really stressed with other things lately) but the plough was roughly to the South and was upright like a question mark.

At first I thought it was a bit odd as I didn’t remember the plough having that star before and then I realised that it was moving very slightly.
I thought it might be my eyes playing tricks on me so I kept watching to see if it really was moving and over a matter of about 15 seconds, it faded from a bright star into nothing.

If you imagine the plough as a question mark, the star was just below the ‘hook’ and inline with the top star of the tail where the hook and tail join.

I’m not sure if it was a UFO or some kind of comet, but I really want to know what it was. I haven’t been able to find anything about it on google and all the star maps and charts I’ve looked at of the plough don’t have it at all.

If anyone has seen this, please let me know.

Witness Statement: I regulary see ( 2 to 3 times a year ) just a light , like a bright star but within our atmosphere , usually around 6pm on a sunny day in summer time whilst walking my dog . I am a bit of an Alien sceptic to be honest and so many strange things happen to me , i have never really botherd , a) I see so many of them and b) I have only just got internet access so up until now i have had no one to tell ! I have never got exited about them , they never bother me . They always appear above the skyline so it is impossible to tell there size or distance . They always assend straight up . Like i say , i never bother about them , but i will this year , i’ll try to get one on film . I have never seen any other type eg:- triangular or circular ufo’s . I hope this is useful to you .

Witness Statement: I was at home looking out towards ndalCunswick Fell from Burneside Road, in Kendal, when I saw a bright orange light moving from the south west to north east. It was a cloudy night and there were no stars visible so it must have been below the clouds. There was no wind blowing and it made no sound. I took this photograph but, as I had it on full zoom it hasn’t come out very clearly.

Definately not a Chinese lantern – any other ideas?

Witness Statement: We were traveling on the A590 towards Gilpin Bridge, when we saw two orange objects
coming towards us about 30 ft apart at about 500 to 800 ft.
Turning on to the Bowness Windermere road we stopped in a lay by. The two objects moved in a slow controlled manner passing about 75yds from our position, there was no noise from then & they disappeared in to light cloud.
A third object then appeared following them. It changed its course towards us , stopping immediately above our heads & remained there for 2 to 3 mins., before moving off in a slow controlled manner in the direction the other two objects had taken.
Unfortunately we hadn’t a camera.
They were round but had no defined edge, they glowed with a much denser
glow in the centre.
We had ample time to observe it, to us the object was being controlled, if it wasn’t how & why did it change direction, stopping above us for so long ?. It was all very intriguing , they were not Chinese Lanterns.

Witness Statement: i was on my way to morrisons for breakfast when i saw 3 balls of light darting up and down and side to side.i could not explain it .i asked around if anyone had seen them but noone had so i dismissed it till i had a phone call this evening saying there had been sightings in chesterfield this last few days.

Witness Statement: From my garden I saw a bright orange light, it was much larger, and without the flashing you would expect from an aeroplane. It appeared in the sky towards north north east of my position and traveled, without sound, towards north north west. I had to move down the drive of my house when i started to loose it behind buildings. From the driveway, i saw it stop dead in the sky, then fade out to nothing. I have seen many things in the sky, from planes to meteors and even the ISS but it wasn’t compareable to anything I have seen before.

Witness Statement: Myself and a friend came across a UFO while driving to work. The object was 6 miles south of Carlisle at time stated above.

The object was at an altitude of around 500ft (I know this as we managed to pass the object within 200yards of passing the roundabout/rotary)

We pulled over to get a better look at this very strange glowing object which was moving very slowly across avery clear night sky, we managed to get a photo of this object using a 8 mega pixal camera phone. While we were watching the object another car pulled up from which an old women got out and asked if we were watching the UFO (thank god someone else saw this)we said yes and tried to get some movie footage using the camera phone again. AS we did this the object faded away!!!!!

The strange thing is we had a wierd feeling the object was still there??

After a few minutes we decided it was time to get to work so headed off to Carlisle. Around 100 yards down the road we were still looking into the sky to relocate the object when all of a sudden it reappeared from nothing and shot off in a northerly direction at what can only be described as impossible speed (I have seen the euro fighter quite regulary as the RAF train for operations abroard in my local area) The object we saw was on a very different level altogether!!!!

Witness Statement: I was walking my dog along the river Pettril and reached a small bridge , near Dale End Road in Harraby , Carlisle. When i crossed over ,an old couple were with their dog which was playing in the water . One of them said look up , its a glider . Sure enough there was a hang glider passing overhead going to our right . Then i looked further across to our left and saw what looked like a passenger jet plane . It was clear blue skies and you could see the smoke coming out of the rear of the plane . Then i noticed something flying very close to the aircraft . It was long , silver ,had no wings or smoke coming out of the rear . You could clearly see the trail from the other aircraft . The long thin silver object seemed too close to the plane and for a short while shadowed the aircraft before heading off in another direction. A man , coming from the direction i was heading said he missed the unusual occurance but a man sitting on a bench in the nearby park had seen something strange.. If it wasn’t for the old couple noticing the glider i would probably not have looked up.

Witness Statement: I arrived home from work and parked on the road in front of my house, it was a star lit night and very dark because the street light is hidden by trees. Getting out of the car my eye was caught by something in the sky and looked up thinking I was seeing a shooting star because it was moving so fast. As I focused on it I could see it was light orange and shaped like two ovals with pointy ends which were joined together. It was travelling fast and in a straight line from east to west. In the dark its hard to gauge how high things are, but it appeared to be up as high as the planes (we live below several flight paths) but it was much bigger than the planes you look up and see. It was gone in perhaps 3 seconds. Has anyone any idea what it was? Could it have been a satalite falling back to earth, as a friend suggested? No one seems to believe what I saw!

Witness Statement: Whilst driving my truck northbound on the M6 motorway in Cumbria, between junction 38 and 39 (Shap) at 2320 on Monday 10th August 2009, i had the feeling i was being watched and looked to my right, to see what i thought was a very low flying passenger jet flying about 60 to 70 foot above the southbound carriageway. It was flying quite slow. I realised it couldn’t be a jet due to speed and location. After about 10 seconds i realised it was a large triangle shaped object with white (non flashing ) lights on each corner and a red light in the middle. It flew alongside me for about 90 seconds before gradually accelerating over the carriageway in front of me (approx NW) toward the cement works . The whole sighting lasted well over 2 minutes. It is the second sighting i have had of this object in just over a year. The first was near Okehampton, on Dartmoor last August..In both sightings the object could not be heard to emit any noise.
