Witness Statement: We were watching TV and were distracted as we noticed an orange glowing light in the sky gliding and moving from an east to west direction seemingly over the A5 (Hinkley to Tamworth route). We have a good view of the sky from our patio doors and we are used to seeing planes and helicoptors. But this was something completely different. Suzanne went outside as she was worried that it was a small plane on fire, she confirmed that there was no sound at all. The glowing light seemed to be a round globe shape and appeared to have a smaller not so bright white light dangling somehow underneath. Shortly afterwards there were another two of these identical Orange globes following the same path with an equal gap between them, travelling approx. 30-40 miles per hour in a straight line, at about the same hight as a helicoptor. we have never seen anything like this before ever, and I am a sceptic but now after reading so many sightings, I wonder what it can be. Weve seen shooting stars before but this was something completely different, very strange, anyone else see this last night??

Witness Statement: UFO sighting with naked eye – Flecknoe Warwickshire - 8 miles south of Rugby – Wednesday 11 august 2010 between 0130 and 0145 – cloudless sky, many stars, no wind, no moon; approx 20 seconds duration

I went for a walk, with no torch, on our land which has extremely low levels of light pollution. Saw a shooting star and then later looked up to the eastern sky and saw a short cone of light about a mile up between 45 and 70 degrees elevation from the horizontal. I thought it was a helicopter with a spotlight or some such but there was absolutely no noise and it appeared too high for a helicopter. I turned away for a brief second and when I turned back I was startled to see an extremely bright, long, thick, rectangular beam of pure white light more than 10000 feet up (ie cloud height, and above the level at which planes lower their wheels on coming into land at Birmingham airport over us) – 200 or 300 yards long and up to 50 yards deep with streaks of pure white lightning coming off it and streaking parallel to it, not only in zig zags but in straight line bursts. It was very bright so I briefly turned away again. When I turned back the bright light had faded and there was a glowing pulse or throbbing echo of light like billowing sheets flowing across the sky where it had been. I saw no fuselage or structures but still cannot completely discount that it was military (though of what nature and design, goodness knows – it definitely wasn’t of “Stealth” antiquity). I don’t actually believe in alien flying saucers but I did see this! A month ago I saw a billowing throbbing light over our land, exactly the same as the end of this but in the western sky and lower.

Witness Statement: At approximately 11.30pm on Thursday 12/08/2010 in Leamington Spa my wife and I were watching the occasional meteor shoot across the sky. It was an unexpectedly clear spell and visibility was very good. Suddenly two bright orange oval lights appeared from behind some trees from the North travelling one behind the other in perfect formation. There was no noise whatsoever and they were travelling to low not to be heard. They suddenly darted to the right, zigzagged and disappeared from sight. These were definitely not Chinese Lanterns and disappeared to fast to be any conventional aircraft that I have ever seen. Did any one else see anything?

Witness Statement: this caught my eye because unlike the planes that pass by the back of my house it had no flashing lights,seemed to move round as if lost? and then at speed went up into clouds it was ornge/white. i stood to see if it came out the other side of cloud but didnt. Witness Statement: I was sitting with my mate one night at about 23.30 in a feild near to were his house was and mine, when i looked round and saw the silver light/ball dip and arc across then vanish below the houses,at first i thought it was a plane but there was no sound and it was so close to were i was standing so i knew it wasnt a plane and the speed it travelled was just out standing, but i have seen quite a lot of odd objects in the skys as i have been growing up here, as i look at the night sky most night.

Witness Statement: Looked out of the open front bedroom window and saw an orange ball of light moving silently and much more swiftly than a plane. It seemd to be climbing. Thinking it would disappear quite quickly I went to the back bedroom and did indeed see it, by now much smaller, disappear into the clouds. Travelling NE to SW, I think. It wasn't scary at all, just unusual and silent.

Witness Statement: There were three other people in the car with me returning from Coventry along the A428 towards Rugby. We all witnessed the following; It was 11.15ish and in the distance to the right (South of East) we noticed two moderately bright orange/yellow lights. We stopped on Townsend Lane (orientated roughly N-S) to observe the two objects, separated by a few hundred feet, come towards us silently at about 1000ft and at slow but steady speed. Gradually each light (first the one perceived furthest away, then the one nearest) faded out. My first reaction was that these were mearly chinese lanterns. However upon reaching our home some 2 minutes later we saw again two lights in the east steady over the Rugby Cement Works. Again both at a steady speed and height. The one to our right (more south of east) faded slowly but the object most easterly seemed to gain speed and run off towards the north east. Weather for that time of evening was a 5mph wind from the WSW, high patchy cloud with a near full moon. Two of us sat and watched the sky for another hour spotting a bright Jupiter low on the horizon through broken cloud to the East. Independant sightings of 5 orange object were also made in nearby Stratford upon Avon (some 22 miles away to the SW of our position) at around 22:30 by 50+ people at a local pub. Now, assuming the objects we saw originated in Stratford, then to travel 22 miles in 45 minutes makes propulsion upon a 5mph wind unlikely. I'm a ex pilot and keen sky watcher but have never seen anything like this. I am prepared to admit this maybe chinese laterns except for the fact that the objects we observed changed direction at least three times and one sped off eastward at considerably more than the reported 5mph wind. Wind shear may account for this but I am not convinced. All in all it's been a very strange experience and I welcome comments from other observers.

Witness Statement: Despite many others' brushing off what I recalled seeing, this is definitely an 'I KNOW what I saw' case, and I can still remember it clear as day. I was looking at the stars out of my bedroom window when I noticed a large lit object in the sky that appeared to be hovering. Initally assuming it was just a plane or a satellite, I watched it but felt it was peculiar that it was not moving in any direction. I noticed that it was turning on the spot, which I was able to see as it was circular and there were many lights around the rim. There was an aeroplane (the usual holiday jet type plane) flying towards it.

At this point I was even more certain that this was something very out of the ordinary as it looked so very different to the plane, and feeling quite scared (I was about 16) and ran to fetch my brother so that he could witness it too. Of course, he was half asleep and didnt believe me anyway until he noticed that I was shaking like a leaf!

I went back to my window and the plane was travelling closer to this object. I made a mental note to check the newspapers about this as the pilot (and possibly passengers) would have undoubtedly been able to see this. As the plane moved closer the object, it suddenly shot off. Now this was what had really scared me. It didnt fly quickly in one direction, Im finding this quite difficult to describe, it moved extremely fast for a short distance in the direction of my window and then shot upwards and completely out of sight with a speed that just is not possible. With wonderful timing, my brother then decided to pop his head round my door.

No one else seemed to record any sightings at the time and there was nothing in the newspapers, so Im hoping that maybe someone will recall it after reading this.

Witness Statement: We saw two orange glowing lights in the sky to the west of us not very high travelling slowly which at first i thought were planes going into birmingham. then i realised they were coming towards picking up speed until they passed overhead and disappeared to the east of us towards hinckley. there was no engine noise, completety silent as they passed overhead.
Whatever they were they were not commercial aircraft, helicopters, chinese lanterns,r micro-light or balloons.

Witness Statement: taking dogs for a walk saw a small ball of light flash overhead. Thought at first was a satellite then realised too fast and too large (about half the size of the moon in apparent circumference ) it disappeared before it hit the horizon like a meteorite might but they always appear as rods of light don't they?. I don't believe in UFO's so what is the likely explanation? someone playing with a ghostly silvery grey laser beam? I pass!

Witness Statement: Hi, I think i have seen a sighting of some sort. It was last night 29 june 2010 at around 11.15 pm in Rugby Warwickshire, except the colour was bright green. It was a light this flash of light was coming towards my window in the sky, when i went to look it was gone. It was literally there for a split seconds. Witness Statement: The first light I saw was bright orange, like an aircraft light only larger. I watched as it come towards me, I was intrigued as there was no sound which was a little eary. As it came towards me, the orange light dissapeared and just appeared to be a dark grey ball, no wings or shape. This dissapeared into the clouds, seconds later another followed in the same path, again no sound at all and travelling at a similar speed.
I have in the past been quite sceptical about this subject. Just wondered if anyone else saw these lights, with maybe a logical explanation. They definately were not Chinese Lanturns.

Witness Statement: I was sitting in bed watching TV when I noticed something orange in the sky.
My bedroom faces north and the objects seem to come from the bulkington area flying across Bedworth to the west.
I was looking out of the window a second one appeared flying at the same speed and height as the first and another came into view again same height and speed. But spaced evenly apart.
They were moving very fast. I went out side to get a better view but could only see one, it was glowing orange and the edges looked very fuzzy and then suddenly the light went out and I could see a dark sphere shape object .and then it disappeared in to the distance. All this happened about 10:15pm.
The thing about all this that there was silence and could not hear any engine sound. I would have thought being so low and fast that if they were planes there would have been some sound from the engines. My partner witnessed all this to and she has never seen any thing like this. I came to this web sight to see if any one had seen the same and it said to make sure they were not Chinese lanterns they were not as these objects were going from right to left very quickly.

Witness Statement: First of all, I've looked up "Chinese lanterns" on the internet, and what we saw was too large and travelling too fast to be such a thing.

My partner noticed a bright orange light travelling from right to left out of the bedroom window. I got up to look at it out of the window. It seemed to be following a trajectory and was curving in towards the planet. There was a second, identical (although slightly smaller) orange object following the first objects exact path. After curving in towards us they curved back out and disappeared. About a minute later, a third orange object, identical, but larger, followed the same path etc along with a fourth one just after. The fourth one was only vaguely visible for a brief time, as it appeared to be further from our atmosphere.

There is no way these were man-made aircraft. They were too fast and were curving too sharply.

They almost looked as if they were on fire. If they weren't UFO's then they were at the very least extremely close comets/asteroids.

Witness Statement: I was taking the bins out when i looked up at a plane that i guess was coming into land at Birmingham airport. As it passed a static object caught my eye. At first i thought it was a star cause it was so bright but as i kept looking at it, it became obvious that it was more of a metalic sphere and it was slowly moving,.I then shouted into my girlfriend to come out and have a look. By the time she came out a red sphere had joined the first metalic sphere...The red sphere was quite hard to focus on because of the blue sky background. A third Sphere now appeard from underneith to two slowly traveling spheres. my girlfriend at this time says the red sphere looked as if it came out of the 1st metalic sphere. as the 3rd shere approached the two other spheres the red one vanished...Now at this stage we had started questioning what we're looking at and now thought that they could have been ballons from a party or weather ballons. I soon as we had said that the 2 remaining metalic spheres started to travel in two opposite directions and flew miles apart before comming to a stand still. this all took about 5 minutes.
As this was happening we saw atleast 4 planes pass in the vacinity of these spheres so someone on those planes must have seen somthing.
I was always a firm beliver in UFO activity so this didn't fase me as much as i thought it would. but i am of the opiniopn that UFO's are military...Still it was cool to be privey to such an event.

Witness Statement: Late report but found this sight after seeking UFO sightings online. This is my only (sure) sighting (so far) in life.
The sky was clear and there was a crescent moon that night. I was in a friends back garden with him and we were looking for stars to appear. Looking above I saw a feint glow of a star, turned to him and said "there`s a star"!. Seconds later, trying to out do my sighting (methinks), he pointed to the left and said "No, That`s a star", and I looked to where he pointed. And it Was bright. We watched it for a few seconds then I said, "that`s no star", as it moved quite slowly but steadily to the left (Northwards) before becoming stationary for another few seconds. As we were staring at it trying to make out what it was it suddenly became, what my friend afterwards described as, Supernova bright. It also had a feint blue translucent rim surrounding the brightness. It disappeared very quickly and we could see it get rapidly dimmer until nothing, as if it flew into outer space at a tremendous velocity. There was no sound from it at all.
Very bizarrely, minutes before the sighting I pointed out to him a dark shadowy shape shifting thing moving across the sky probably 30 to 50 feet above the ground. It`s size and shape was inconsistent but moved on a steady path until it went out of sight over the rooftops. Black plastic bag perhaps, no it would have had an erratic flight path. A bird of prey it looked like at one point, too late in the day. Very wierd!

Witness Statement: I was visiting a friend in Kingshurst Birmingham, when leaving, I got into my car and then noticed a moving orange object in the sky. At first I thought maybe it was a plane of some but I came to realise that there was no engine noise coming from the object. It was flying quite low and slow then all of a sudden the object came to a stop then shot upwards into the sky, then vanished. I felt very concerned by this as i've never seen anything like it before. I had then driven home to coleshill in North Warickshire and as I pulled up onto my drive I then noticed another large orange object flying slow in the sky. This one was a lot lower than the other sighting I had seen previously. It was flying by so slowly then the same thing happened, it just stopped then shot up into the sky and vanished. For some reason, this kinda freaked me out, and I became a little worried as I have no idea what they were. Does anyone else know what they were or is it unknown. Its the unknown that I am afraid of.

Witness Statement: At 8.45pm yesterday evening (24th April) my wife and I were driving towards Polesworth in Warwickshire and saw a large dark object, too low for a plane,and too large for a bird, hover in the sky and then seem to shoot over our heads and disappear above the trees of a nearby Residential Care home. It came quite low over the road and looked to be about the size of a car. No explanation and never seen anything of this sort before.

Witness Statement: Whilst sitting in the garden something caught my eye moving accross the sky. Due to the volcanic ash in the sky all planes have been grounded. I think this sighting would have gone unnoticed otherwise! The light was the same size as a star and the same colour. We watched as this light moved across the sky at tremendous speed from a North Northwest direction, forming an arc aross the sky and disappeared from view going north northeast. The light travelled at around 10 times faster than an airliner. 10 minutes later a similar light again caught my eye travelling at the same speed but coming from the south travelling North Northeast again. This time the light seemed to speed up and slow down and also weave across the sky. I have no idea what altitude it was at, but due to the fact it looked like a star then there is a possibility it wasnt in our atmosphere.

Witness Statement:During taking the dog for a walk with my mate chris down a track just outside the village we came across a odd light in a wood we know not to have any houses or builgings in it, we walk this track quite often at night and we have never noticed it before. we decided to watch it for 5 mins to see if it went out , after watching for a min we realised is was moving from left to right or round in a circle(we were observing from aprox 600m away and about level with it. at a guess it was moving 50m from left to right .) . At this point i decided to video it on my mobile phone . i pointed the phone at it but it was not snowing up on the screen. while messing with the settings on the phone we looked back up to see that what ever it was ,was gone (we had watched it for about 15min). rather odd we thought , was a bit spookey walking back home after that.

Witness Statement: I was driving home from work one afternoon last week heading towards coventry, when passing stoneleigh golf clubs entrance i saw a large black object flying at high speed and was very close to the fields and tree lines i almost couldn't watch the road in front of me. I live on the flight paths into Birmingham and Coventry airport and so an used to seeing planes/helicopters etc but last night there were two - 10 mins apart - very bright orange and FAST moving lights. Witness Statement: I've only just found this site, so forgive me for the late entry. The above date is when myself, my partner Jack and my friend Laura all witnessed orange lights in the sky over Hatton. This was the first time I'd seen lights like this, but I've seen them three times since then. That night, we were taking Laura home from Warwick town centre to Hatton and as we came round a bend on the A4100 I saw three dark orange coloured lights in an inverted triangle high up in the sky. It was cloudless and windless and you could see stars behind the lights. They were moving at a steady pace towards us and were not flashing or blinking. I got Jack to stop the car and Laura and I got out. There was no aircraft noise at all. The bottom light must've been a good half mile up and the others about a mile up. They reached where we were standing, and one by one, they went dark, so we didn't see them pass. A bit further on, as we turned left down a lane off the A4100, we saw another one on its own. It was much lower down and far bigger. It was also a funny colour, like a burnt orange, and it was glowing very brightly. It didn't flash or blink either, like normal aircraft do. This time, I got my partner to turn the car engine off so we could hear properly. About half a mile away across a field is a pub. We could hear the noise and music from there, but again, no aircraft noise. This light went the same way as the others, towards Warwick town, but we lost it behind some trees after a couple of minutes.
I've since seen dark orange lights on New Year's Eve 2009 (one on its own) travelling from Coventry towards Warwick at 7pm. I was on the road by the Saxon Mill and stopped the car to watch it. Early in January 2010 (I didn't write the date down) I saw two orange lights in Warwick again. A flight path goes past my window and the planes always travel from left to right. I was watching TV when I glanced out of the living room window and saw a light going from right to left. It was orange and wasn't flashing. A few minutes later, either the same light or a different one went past again, at exactly the same height. They seem to travel at the same distance a plane would, but none of them make any sound.
The latest sighting was me and my partner again, but this time, we were on the motorway in South Wales last Saturday (30th January 2010). We were about level with Port Talbot because there was a large industrial area with smoking chimneys, next to the sea on our left. We saw seven orange lights this time. I was driving and I nearly crashed the car when I saw them. It was around 7.30 - 8pm so it was dark again. They came over a small mountain to our right, which we could see because of the full moon that night. Five of them were in a jagged line and flew together without veering off or anything. The last two were about a quarter of a mile behind them. One was slightly behind the other. They carried on flying to the right of us, heading back towards Bristol.
Like some of the other postings, I would also like to know what they are. I'm sure they weren't Chinese Lanterns as I've seen so many over a large period of time and I'm sure they're too high and large for something made of paper. My partner is very interested in aircraft and says he's never seen anything like it.
