Witness Statement: i was traveling home from work when i saw what at first i thought was a firework , but soon realised that it was far to big . It was a bright green ball leaving a white trail behind it coming down slowly really at a 45 degree angle , i lost sight as it passed behind houses , i waited for what i thought might be an explosion as i passed over the crossings i looked in the field not sure what i mght see but there was nothing at all , a friend told me later she was in front of me also traveling home she witnessed it to , the next day she asked if i found out anything i said no but had looked on the internet and had found people had seen similar things before .

This was a meteorite which was widely reported on the net at the time.
The green colour is the copper content burning as the meteorite burns up in the atmosphere.
I’ve seen a couple of these myself and they are a spectacular sight.
