Date of Sighting: 13th August 2009
Time: 9: 45
Witness Name: Paul Adam

Witness Statement: I was looking out of the window towards the north east for the persiad meteorite shower , even though I realised it was a bit early. I was looking towards the campsies to the north east , then I witnessed a small light moving very slowly towards the west then it dissapeared. Then 5 - 10 mintues later both myself and my fiance' witnessed another two objects of same size travelling alongside each other for some distance before dissapearing. During the sighting the objects moved in a very strange trajectory, initially travelling in a straight line then wavering around each other for a short time.

They did not look like aircraft , as the flight path for glasgow internationl does pass overhead ,above my house.
However they didnt appear to resemble anything like planes.

Location of Sighting: Barrhead, Glasgow
Date of Sighting: 1970
Time: Daytime
Witness Name: William Irvine

Witness Statement: When i was about 14 or 15 not sure of the exact year. i think 1970 time. It was a massive white ball of light hovering over glasgow in broad daylight. It was there for most of the day . It was fobbed of by the local news papers as a weather ballon. This ball of light was about 2 to 3 miles high and could be seen all over the clyde valley. I seen it in Barrhead as did the whole town. A weather ballon could not have hung around for that lenth of time, considering the wind factor. And at the hight it was at could not have been attached to any cables. There was a few other sightings around that time. When trying to investigate recently i could not find any articles anywhere. this was a big deal and i think it was covered up. mean the whole of the clyde valley seen it for most of the day. Can you shed any light on the subject.???????

Location of Sighting: Queens Park, Glasgow
Date of Sighting: 18/07/09
Time: 23.03-23.20hrs
Witness Name: Scott Young

Witness Statement: While watching TV around 11.03pm I noticed out the corner of my eye a bright steady orange light out of my south facing bay window. My window faces on to Queens Park towards the flag pole in the south side of Glasgow.

I stood up and went over to the window and noticed 2 more. The sky was partly clear with broken high cloud and the odd star visible.

The orange lights were emerging above the horizon due south and rising above some broken cloud around 3000-5000ft. What made me take notice was the speed, probably 2 or 3 times faster than a normal passenger jet. The lights were travelling SW to NE a couple of miles apart, across a strong north westerly wind.

At this point a went to grab a set of binoculars. When I returned to the window more bright orange lights were emerging from the southern horizon, all travelling in the same direction in a loose formation. I lost count but reckon there was between 11 and 15 objects. There was no noise.

Looking through my binoculars I could only make out a solid spherical shape with a point of bright orange light at the base. There was no flashing lights like you would get from aircraft navigation beacons. They seemed to climb above 10,000ft and disappear into the high cloud towards the east of Glasgow.

I'm now very curious as to what they were and would like to know if anyone else saw them at the same time.

Date of Sighting: 14th/15th July 2009
Time: 00:10
Witness Name: JF

Witness Statement: I finished work at midnight and was in a taxi heading west on the M8. Just as we came down off the Kingston bridge and swept round the corner I looked to my left and a orange ball, high up in the sky caught my eye. I then notice two other orange balls in a diagonal line (downwards and off to the left). They had a definite orange glow and seemed to be static - they were all of a similar size and appearance. The first one I noticed (the highest one) was way too high to be attached to any building or anything like that. I stared at them until the disappeared behind the landscape somewhere around or after the M77 cut off (we continued down the M8 in the direction of Paisley).

Location of Sighting: Glasgow
Date of Sighting: 14th July 2009
Time: midnight - 12.30
Witness Name: Don

Witness Statement: I was walking back from Springsteen at Hampden last night. Was waiting for a taxi at the corner of Dumbreck Road and Mosspark Boulevard (I see this area is mentioned in previous sightings). Looked to the south east and saw orange balls of light - they looked pretty smooth & didn't flicker. They were rising from the ground to the clouds where they would disappear. Usually rose in a straight line, one at a time, although sometimes two or thre would rise in the same line with gaps between them. Once a triangle rose before reorganising and disappearing into the clouds. Each ball took about a minute or so to reach the cloud level and they moved very smoothly - didn't drift about. At one point, what looked like a grey upturned frisbee dropped down from the clouds - it didn't descend as smoothly as the orange balls rose, and it disappeared behind the hills, houses etc between me & wherever this was happening. Hard to judge distance - they looked pretty big and pretty far away, but I'm guessing. This went on for about 20 mins then stopped. One more ball rose about 10 mins later then my taxi came. I tried to video it on my phone, but they weren't particularly bright so you can't see much. Anyone else see this?

Location of Sighting: Southside Glasgow, Lanarkshire
Date of Sighting: 4th July 2009
Time: 00.00
Witness Name: Nicola

Witness Statement: We've just seen a strange sighting of several large bright orange lights over the southside of glasgow - 00.00 july 4th 2009. My boyfriend and I watched a total of 4 orange lights appear one after the other. Only one was visible at a time and all followed the same path, staying visible for about 5-6 minutes. Each one rose vertically before hovering, several minutes, before travelling northwest and becoming feint then disappearing from sight. They were larger than any stars, had an uneven orange glow, no flashing lights, no sound, when one disappeared, another would reappear from the original spot, rising over the buildings to the south, before following the same path northwest.
There are often helicopters flying in this area, but the orange lights didn't really bear any resemblance to them, as there was no sound, flashing lights or real deviation of path.
Kinda bizarre but hard to explain. There may have been more objects, but we only spotted four - anyone else see this?
Sorry no footage - too busy watching the show

Location of Sighting: M73/M74 East of Glasgow
Date of Sighting: 13th June 2009
Time: about midnight
Witness Name: B. Penrice

Witness Statement: Travelling south from Ben Nevis, driving a team doing the 3 peaks challenge, saw 9 steady lights in the distance, just above the horizon, ahead and slightly to our right. Weather was hazy high cloud with strands of widely spaced fairly low cloud. Few stars visible, but only the brightest. Lights were in a random pattern, which did not change noticeably as the lights moved towards us quite rapidly. The objects were above the lower cloud level and occasionaly disappeared individually as they passed behind the clouds. As they came nearer, they took on an orangey tint and had a steady glow, with no wavering of the light and no aeroplane style flashing lights. Initially thought it was reflection of street liights on overhead power cables, but the lights passing behind clouds discounted this. Considered they might have been hot air lanterns, but they were moving very quickly across the wind, the light was very steady (unlike those on the Halesowen lantern video) and the objects must have been hundreds of feet above ground. I live under flight paths for all the midlands airports and can guarantee to see 4 planes in the sky at any time of day or night. So I can confidently say that these were not like any plane I have ever seen. Co-driver also witnessed the lights once I shook him awake, but only 3 were visible at that time, the rest being hidden by the lower clouds. Unfortunately, the other 7 people on the minibus were asleep, so no other witnesses available. See separate report for similar single sighting further south earlier in the year. Also no camera or videocam to hand in the 40 ish seconds they were in sight.

Date of Sighting: 12th April 2009
Time: 23:30
Witness: Lucy & Mark

Witness Statement: We were leaving my parent's house in Bearsden, (northwest outskirts of Glasgow) at around 23:30 on 12th April. We saw five bright orange lights rise up into the sky from approximate direction of south-east - they were too fast to be balloons but too slow for fireworks. They seemed to be following each other but one of them seemed to overtake another slightly higher in the sky. All seemed headed to the north. All of them seemed to burn very brightly for a few minutes before completely disappearing into the sky. Weirdest thing being there was no noise and it was a clear night so you would think we would have heard something! Would love to know if anyone else saw these.

Location of Sighting: Pollokshields, Glasgow
Date of Sighting: 29th March 2009
Time: tba
Witness: Chris

Witness Statement: I am situated on the 2nd floor of a tenament building in Pollokshields, Glasgow southside.
I was sitting watching tv with my Girlfriend, when randomly out of the corner of our eyes to the west over the local flats, a Very bright orange light, it seemed to appear from literally nowhere. It slowly drifted north and downwards at the same time, and slowly disappeared behind the flats nearby. I dont know what happened after that.

I believe it was close to the area over Rutherglen, or perhaps Hampden Park. I really cannot be sure, all I know was it was further than Pollokshields, towards the west.

I couldnt explain it. It just popped up, it was definately no plane, heli, or anything I have ever seen before. I tried to think it was a parachute flare, but I have only seen a white one of those, so I cant be too sure. The existance of this place after a few minutes of googling leads me to think otherwise.

I will be keeping an eye on the skies from now on.

Location of Sighting: Cathcart, Glasgow
Date of Sighting: 14th February 2009
Time: TBA
Witness: Alastair Mackenzie

Witness Statement: I looked out the window and saw a shimmering light drifting at low altitude. The light was bright but not white and was shimmering like a parachute flare. It hung in the air just drifting and occassionaly there were 4/5 parallel red lines diagonally above the light. I watched the light for around 4 minutes until I realised it was going to pass over the my flat. I ran outside expecting to hear a helicopter but there was absolutely no sound. The cloud cover was low and so it could not have been a high altitude plane. The light just drifted away towards the centre of Glasgow. I watched the light for at least 6 minutes and managed to take a video with my phone but unfortunately it doesn't show very much. I had thought the light was just a helicopter or plane but I am certain it was neither of these. It eventually just drifted off out of sight with the red parallel lines someotimes visible, sometimes not. I have no explanation as to what it was that I had seen.

Location of Sighting: Glasgow, Clydeside
Date of Sighting: 25th January 2009
Time: 10.00pm
Witness: Stuart Gray

Witness Statement: I noticed in the corner of my eye an orange light in the distance heading towards me from the north of Glasgow.
There is a lot of helicopter and sea plane transport that pass the flat every day as the helipad is under a mile away and the sea plane lands in the River Clyde outside my window so I am well aware of what these objects look like both at night and during the day.
Initially I thought it was a helicopter or plane that was on fire. I got my binoculars out to have a closer look, it was late at night and I couldnt make out what the object was, it certainly looked like a large flame or something similar.
It continued on its trajecotry until it stopped almost immediately above the flat then it altered direction and headed off over towards the west end of glasgow.
My Girlfriend also witnessed this although as she wasnt looking through the binoculars she thought the light was getting less and less prominent as it hovered high in the sky above the flat.
