Tonbridge-27th January 2013
Location of Sighting: Tonbridge
Date of Sighting: 27/01/2013
Time: 10:10
Witness Name: Munro P
Witness Statement: Looking out from my bedroom window (which faces west) I saw an unusual black object hovering probally about 5 miles from me, over the Crockham Hill area in Kent. The object moved around slowly, and then turned to the right (north). It glinted in the sun, and I faintly picked out the shape of a triangle. It then stopped and hovered for a good 5 minutes or so, before moving again. By this time I had some binoculars and I was watching it. It was faint, but almost certainly triangular. After this, it moved away and I lost sight of it. People in Sevenoaks, Westerham, Edenbridge and/or near Bough Beech resevoir would have got a better view.

There is much debate about the origin of the infamous triangular UFOs:

What sized binos were you using? Am assuming you used a tripod? At 10 x 50, there is very little chance of you seeing a triangular shape from 5 miles, without a more powerful pair. A black object glinting in the Sun? And here’s me thinking black absorbed the Sun’s rays . Either you haven’t judged the distances correctly or you are pulling our collective legs.

It’s interesting to read articles like this and perceive the bias within them. There’s no doubt that these triangular craft exist, but surely – as they are sighted so frequently – they are of an earthly nature? I know T Wood favours the inter-dimensional beings theory, being an experienced astral traveller, but come on, let’s get real: the questions asked in that article raise some interesting points:
“The military decided that just ONE type of enormous, silent black triangular craft with a bizarre lighting pattern wasn’t enough for their needs, so they had 4 or 5 other aerospace manufacturers build 5 or 6 different type of triangular craft to carry out roughly the same mission.”
It happens all the time: military decide they want an aircraft for a specific purpose, manufacturers all submit their chosen design to that brief. Look back over the history of US, especially, military aircraft and there are endless examples.
“Some of these craft are prototypes or proof-of-concept vehicles which are being flight tested in advance of building the final production variant.”
Yes, of course you fly a prototype before the final model; witness Taranis, which is about to take its maiden flight in prototype form, for example.
“There are dozens of these craft based out of dozens of different Air Force bases throughout the country, and not a single person within the military has ever leaked even the smallest bit of information about them in decades? No flight line mechanic has ever told his wife or girlfriend that he changed a tire on a black triangle the size of a football field? No airbase ATC controller has ever mentioned to a friend in a bar that he or she was part of the engineering team on a craft that made the Space Shuttle look like a Cessna?”
Official secrets acts, anyone? I have a very, very close friend who, for a number of years, was in the RAF based at Macrihanish which, back then, was a joint US-UK base; he still can’t tell me about some of the things he witnessed there.
“No Air Force pilot has EVER discussed their involvement in such a program with anyone, family or otherwise. I find this terribly difficult to believe.”
Why is it difficult to believe? Would you discuss trade secrets of your job with others?
“Sightings of these craft began in the early 1980′s and have continued with more or less visibility for the past 30+ years. Thirty years.”
Who says the triangles of thirty years ago are those flying now? Thirty years ago there were a whole host of aircraft competing for the US stealth bomber and fighter roles, many of them distinctly triangular in shape.
The thing is, we know – for a fact – that the military has secrets; why brush over it?

having read this sighting again it sounds like a kite.

Steve…To say that ‘the military has secrets’ must be the understatement of the millennium! The truth is, that the military has secrets that are so ‘deep’ and so ‘dark’ that even the President of the USA is not ‘allowed’ access to them! The black triangular craft has been around now for decades and yet, they are still secret. With all the wars we and the USA have been involved in over the years….have they ever been used? Doesn’t it make you wonder exactly what they ‘are’ used for? What is their purpose if not as a weapon? Why are they still secret after all these years?

OSA – Believe it – Americans and secrecy – mouth shut!
Taranis maiden flight? – A lorry driver reported seeing this in Cumbria a couple of years ago on this very site, late at night or very early in the morning. It was I think going North. Or was it American?
Any RAF stations North of the spot he saw it or to the North West – one possibly closed? This valley is one of the routes the RAF use for low flying going North.
Agree Gary, at five miles with bino’s would make an object difficult to see, plus it could be actually moving away and appearing to be at standstill. The glinting could be a canopy? But, any aircraft in the right position would be triangle shaped at this distance. Don’t believe me folks go and find an airport watch a plane on approach – most are around five miles to join ILS, or watch one take off. What do they look like? Triangles – especially the lights!
