Beeston, Nottingham-25th April 2011

Location of Sighting: Beeston Nottingham
Date of Sighting: April 25th 2011
Time: 21.43hrs
Witness Name: David

Witness Statement: I went outside to have a look at the night sky and saw a very bright rounded light,it was travelling from a north westerly direction to a south easterly direction,I watched the object for about 2 mins,it was lower than 3 civil aircraft which were heading in a northerly direction, and a lot higher than the normal air traffic that passes over on approach to the nearby East Midlands Airport. Also the light was constant and no signs of other flahing lights normally seen on aircraft.I would desribe the size of the object as been the size of a Garden pea on your dinner plate.I have been an observer of the skys for many years especially plane spotting and have never seen anything like this before.I have another witness my oldest son who I called to come outside to witness this.

  1. Yes i saw this also in Beeston, I have seen 6 sightings this month of the same thing – if they are the same!? When Ive seen them they initially appear as a really bright light moving either slowly or quickly across the sky but then it gradually reduces until it disappears. Very odd!!I came on here actually just to see if there had been any posts about these.

  2. I saw on 25th March in Harlech about 8pm to 9pm a really bright stationary light fairly low in the sky. It was about the same size as your siting, to the west of the castle, looking from the beach. I got my binoculars to get a better view, it was so intense and never moved. I wonder did anyone else see this?

  3. I saw the exact same thing from east bridford in nottinghamshire while sitting on a field. We watched it for about 5 minutes until it appeared to stop in the sky and slowly disappear. Glad someone else saw this too.

  4. I saw a simalar thing again last night (28th) and glad some one else has spotted the same thing, last night it was visible for about 40 seconds traveling from the west towards the east then suddenly disappeared, this was at 22.43hrs.

  5. I saw the same sort of ‘light’ very early one Sunday morning, about 05.30 on 10th April, it was moving in a west -east direction. Bright white, same intensity as a very bright star. No flashing lights, no noise and quite low in the sky.
