Bullockstone Road/Owls Hatch Road, Herne Bay-27th June 2010

Location of Sighting: Bullockstone Road/Owls Hatch Road
Date of Sighting: 27/06/2010
Time: 22:57
Witness Name: Geoff Ward

Witness Statement: Travelling from Bullockstone Road (south) towards Herne Bay High School, spotted a bright orange orb which appeared to be at extremely high altitude very slowly moving forwards towards the direction we were coming from. As the object was moving along it appeared to be ‘dropping’ or discharging very small bright lights from its underside as though dropping flares?

This is one of numerous sightings of a similar nature I and my family have seen in and around Herne Bay. Usually these orange orbs are out at sea and not inland, however I don’t submit to this rubbish about Chinese lanterns. These orange orbs are capable of changing direction and moving CONTRARY to the wind, also a lanter will tend to flicker whereas these orbs remain solid and do not flicker.

Also they appear to move as though under propulsion of some kind, even when there is very little or no wind, a chinese lantern would not be able to move at such apparent speed when there is no wind.

These sightings should really be investigated as they are becoming more and more numerous and it’s really rather disturbing.

  1. I saw something very similar that seemed to be hovering over the sea but I can not confirm this for sure but appeared to be somewhere near the old pier out at sea but there were lots of houses between. I was travelling down kings road and then turned into south road (heading towards the high street in herne bay) and saw a glowing Amber orb. It appeared to be increasing and decreasing in size and was moving in a controlled manner very slowly. There was no wind so this wasn’t a factor. It was very unusual and unlike anything I have seen before. It occured in the evening around may 2010.
