Byfield, Northamptonshire-15th July 2013

Location of Sighting: Byfield, Northamptonshire
Date of Sighting: 15th July 2013
Time: 08:04am
Witness Name: Debbie Dollochin

Witness Statement: A blue oval shaped UFO was seen flying from North to South following a passenger jet from Birmingham airport. The UFO was travelling at the same speed and height for a good 2 minutes when it flew under the jet for around 10 seconds, and then pulled up behind it again. Shortly after this it went back the other way at speed. I have added a zoomed in photo of the UFO if anyone can explain what it could be?

  1. Hi Debbie,
Yours is a very interesting sighting. I suggest that you contact Birmingham Airport ATC, together with the date and time of your observation. If it was radar observable they should definitely have a record of it. However, they may, (or may not!) let you know if they observed anything!! -Paul

  2. I’ve no idea what it is. The one point that does strike me is that the Daventry air traffic control sector (the ‘Daventry box’) is the busiest in Europe: and 8am is a particularly busy time of day. So one would have thought there was a high chance of this being seen by pilots and/or picked up on radar. Will be interesting to see if there are other reports.

  3. This is a very interesting one, Debbie, as I saw something similar to what you saw in Rotherham on 7 July ( which I have submitted as a sighting, but seems to have been overlooked by Ed. ). The differences are mine appeared to be grey/silver and rotating at regular intervals, flashing in the sunlight and wasn’t moving particularly fast (in fact not as fast as I would have expected given its perceived height and higher winds up there ) Congrats on the photograph. Mine was too close to the sun. Couldn’t focus the binoculars either. Very frustrating.

  4. I’m sorry, I cannot make anything out on the photo. How did you know the aircraft was from Birmingham?

By the way the aircraft reacted it seems the pilot was inspecting the other aircraft.

Perhaps Birmingham ATC can help you?

  5. Hi Debbie, well i can,t seem to open the zoom on this photo and all i can see on the normal size picture is a very small fuzzy blue speck so i can,t really help you with this one.sorry
