South of Kinloss Moray-13th September 2010

Location of Sighting: South of Kinloss Moray
Date of Sighting: 13/09/2010
Time: 21:40
Witness Name: A.McIvor

Witness Statement: From the railway bridge looking South/South East 3 i saw 3 lights closely grouped. these 3 lights went from red to bright white alternating and seemed to be bobbing in the sky, at first i jus expected a helicopter from RAF Kinloss or RAF Lossiemouth, but helicopters to my knowledge, and please correct me if I am wrong, don’t have 3 red lights. After a few minutes watching the lights I heard a jet (from either RAF Kinloss or Lossiemouth) in the distance and appear in the sky flying towards the direction of the lights but to fly past them, a few minutes later the lights disappeared, as it was a patchy cloudy night i assumed it was behind clouds.

Fochabers, Morayshire-30th August 2010

Location of Sighting: Fochabers, Morayshire
Date of Sighting: 30th august 2010
Time: 10pm
Witness Name: Anon

Witness Statement: We noticed a bright orange light moving across the sky, we ran outside and tracked this light which seemed to slowly fade away. It was travelling at the speed of an aircraft, but there was absolutely no sound. Then we saw another, exactly the same but travelling from another direction. We went back indoors, when we saw another, this time coming straight towards our house. We ran outside with the camera and the light appeared to stop in the field opposite and hover in the air, until it slowly faded away. Then we saw another coming from the opposite direction again, towards the house. We called the police to report it as we got quite spooked. I’ll check the fields later on today as if it was a metiorite it would of left some remains.

Update :1st September 2010
Witness has now advised that further investigation revealed a half burnt chinese lantern in the field.

Burghead, Moray-22nd January 2010

Location of Sighting: Burghead, Moray
Date of Sighting: 22 Jan 2010
Time: @2300
Witness Name: John H

Witness Statement: As I let the dog out into our garden I noticed a bright reddy-orange light moving due east over the top of Burghead Maltings and travelling towards Lossiemouth/Elgin.

I instantly assumed that it was a Nimrod in-circuit or recently taken off from Kinloss as the light appeared very similar to aircraft anti-collision lights. As the object flew overhead the light grew sligtly brighter as you would expect. However to my knowledge anti-col lights flash at night and this was constant. There was also no sound whatsoever coming from the object – even taking the doppler effect into account (now overhead I should at least hear some noise),

At this point I ran inside to get my large powerful binoculars and managed to track the object as it moved eastwards. Several times the object went behind clouds but not completely obscurred by them. The light grew dimmer as the object moved further away and at this point the object appeared to be square/wedge shaped with no obvious wings or fin (the glow from Elgin/Lossiemouth street lighting aiding this observation).

At no point could you make out either of the navigation lights or hear any sound from the object. I continued to follow the object until obscurred by street lighting.

I have worked with aircraft for 21 years and have seen a few “oddball” designs in flight such as the US stealth programme aircraft but nothing like this. I can also discount the chinese lantern theory as the light was not flickering at any point and was far too bright.

I would estimate the object to have been roughly 737 sized, maybe slightly smaller and about 1-2000 feet up moving at about 200mph. The cloud was patchy and around this height. I don’t recall the state of the moon and I was both sober and fully awake.
