I was sat I the garden watching the kids on the climbing frame which is facing South. I spotted something shiny in my periphery upwards. I slowly looked up obviously thinking nothing of it or just thinking it was the sun shining on the underside of a plane when i spotted the bright diamond shaped object. I thought for half a second “that isn’t a plane!” And as quick as I could think that, it shot off almost disappearing leaving only a small trail that lasted a second or so then also disappeared. I can confirm it wasn’t a shooting star as I saw it hovering there for a couple of seconds. I was very high, I couldn’t tell you what altitude. I cannot quite believe what I saw.

Low Flying Multi-Coloured Object-Corsham, Wiltshire-18th August 1972

Witness Statement
It was Friday August 18 1972 and I was just a month off from my 10th birthday.
I lived then in Corsham, Wiltshire with my parents and sister.
I was watching ‘It’s a Knockout’ with my mother on this night. I remember it was the European version.
Around 8.30pm a loud knocking was heard at the door and it was my sister who was 15 at the time. She was scared and in a state of anxiety.
She said “Something is chasing me.”
The three of us went out the front door and looked up to the skies to see a bright object above us.
I walked further out toward the grass and looked up. The object was close above me.
The centre section was a rotating series of coloured lights (red, white, green and blue) that appeared to be around a circular object and you couldn’t follow its path of direction with the eyes.
What I mean by this, is the object appeared once to the middle, then somewhere to the left, then somewhere to the right, dotting in and out of the dark night sky.
I don’t remember how long the three of us observed it. It seemed to be a long time. I had a very close view of it but cannot recall any other details. Nor can I recall anything that happened after until hours later when my father returned home from work.
My sister later said she was with a friend in a nearby park with a very large cigar-shaped object descended from the sky. It was this that followed her home and the coloured light object seems to have been different from it.
I felt fearful that night – seeing the fear that chased home my sister and seeing the confusion on my mother’s face who was usually dismissive of such things. But I also felt something else, something primal, which to this day I have not understood. It felt like the proverbial ‘hairs on back of neck’ were standing.
Over the decades since, I have seen many unusual lights in the sky but never as close as this and to make such a burning lasting impression. I don’t know why this memory, however vague, has stayed with me for nearly 50 years. I don’t know if it means anything else.
My mother worked for many years for MOD Copenacre nearby. She signed the official secrets act and never betrayed that trust. But often spoke of the miles of underground corridors where she worked. Could the objects have originated from there?

I’m an amateur Astronomer and on said date I was stargazing in my garden as it was a clear night. I was hoping to spot shooting stars as there was a meteor showing over that night and following nights and the chain of starlink sattelites.
I saw a bright light in the East at a height of approx 35 degrees. My immediate thought was that it was another iridium flare from a sattelite as I’d spotted a couple that evening. The light began pulsating rapidly different colours to a magnitude that was so immense, I was stunned as I thought I was witnessing a star going supernova. This continued for 30-45 seconds before accelerating at an extremely high speed to the South.
I ran to my front door, but could not see it. I went back to the garden, and after a minute of being a little perplexed, I began scouring the sky and after around a minute, I was stunned that the light just reappeared in the same area of sky where it had previously occupied. It was pulsating white and orange for around a minute before vanishing before my eyes. In nearly 40 years of stargazing I have never seen anything this strange, and it still baffles me as to what it was I saw.
It was during lockdown, so there were no planes or helicopters in the sky that evening. I was reluctant to share this, but I was hoping somebody else witnessed this?

Stood at the side of my house I had my back against the wall, a bright white light (best described as similar to a fluorescent tube light) flew by, I saw it in my peripheral vision and turned my head. I saw the light fly at the height of the houses in my neighbourhood at an approximate speed of 30mph, upon reaching the homes in the next side road by my home, it disappeared.
A few weeks passed and I was at the side of my home whilst letting my dogs out and the same light appeared above a tree in my neighbours garden (the tree is taller than the house) and came down diagonally in front of their house. I was alone other than my dogs and thought to myself “if someone passes by then they’re a martian”, as soon as the thought left my head a big black wiry haired dog (best described as wolf like) started to pass my front garden, it stopped and did not move for about 5 or so seconds, it then turned its head and looked directly at me down the side of my home (about 40ft from front fare to my position) with eyes that were bright green (like a glowing light). I looked at my dogs that had not made a sound, looked back (about 2-3 seconds) and it was gone. I nor my family have seen a dog fitting the description in our area before it since.

3 Lights in Triangle Formation-Wythenshawe, Manchester-23rd July 2020

Witness Statement
I was in my back garden chatting with a friend, when I noticed a bright light (I thought it to be a star), I continued to observe it as I love looking at the sky at night. As I watched I noticed it to be moving, I pointed it out to my friend who confirmed that he too could see 3 star like lights in a triangular formation, that were moving. As we watched for approximately another 2 minutes, the lights faded into the dark sky and did not reappear.
Living near the airport I have seen many planes/ helicopters etc but the sightings I have seen do not fit anything I can rationally explain.
